Henry N. Barkhausen Award
The Association for Great Lakes Maritime History
(http://www.aglmh.org)
has recently taken on several new initiatives to stimulate and reward
research in the field of Great Lakes maritime history.
The
most ambitious of these projects is the granting of an annual award
for a piece of original research. The 'Henry N. Barkhausen Award'
is a cash prize of $500 plus an invitation to attend the AGLMH annual
meeting and present your work (registration, room and board paid).
Winning entrants will need to meet a high standard, but we are confident
that there are many researchers out there who can and will rise
to the challenge and appreciate the recognition. For more information
review the Guidelines
for Entrants at their web site, or write to Rev. Frederick H.
Neuschel, AGLMH Research and Publication Committee, 77 Ester Street,
Crystal Lake, IL 60014, call (815) 356-7041 or email at fneuschel@earthlink.net.
Deadline is May 1st, 2001.
