On May 23, 2000, the Steamship William G. Mather of the Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. fleet (1925-1980) marked the 75th anniversary of its maiden voyage as a Great Lakes freighter flagship based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Mather is now a museum ship permanently moored on downtown Cleveland's lakefront. To celebrate this milestone, a reunion was held for the former crew members of the Mather. An onboard rededication ceremony began at 2 PM followed by refreshments and tours.

The museum organization would like to locate and keep in contact with the Mather's former crew members. If you are a former Mather crew member, you are encouraged to contact the organization for reservations and information regarding future events. The Museum can be reached at (216) 574-6262, their mailing address: 1001 East 9th Street Pier, Cleveland, OH 44114-1003, or their web site.

In joint project cooperation with other Great Lakes organizations, we present this information as a service.
